Higgeldy-piggeldy

What  a day! We drove all overTuscany and Umbria. Actually David drove, I tried to navigate and Michele sat in the back of our Ford KA and had a little nap when we weren't oohing and ahhing over the landscape. Rick Steve's makes it seem so easy, HA! After diving to the small town of Montepulciano we had to find parking. Round and round we went until we figured it out. We saw the big Thursday market, bought some groceries and then went up the hill to check out he views from the Grande Piazza, spectacular!
Groceries in hand, we wound our way out of there and drove to Lago Trasimeno another adventure with questionable maps.We finally found it and had a lovely picnic by the lake. Then to Assisi where we walked up and down very steep hills as we did in Montepulciano, we were getting our workout today. Saint Francis Basilica was lovely but the surrounding village was disturbing to me because of it's comercialization. I can't imagine that Saint Francis would approve. The views were again fantastic!
After a long drive home we went around the corner to a restaraunt and had dinner, a true European dinner, it was 11PM when we finished. Now I am finished for the evening. We haven't down loaded our pics from today but boy are they doozies! So hopefully tomorrow we will get those added. Bouna Notte!
